The Last
The Awakening of the Forgotten
Millions of years ago, when Earth was not yet Earth but was called Eldoria, a civilization flourished far ahead of its time. The Eldoria, as they called themselves, merged science and magic in a way that remains unparalleled to this day. Their cities, glittering towers of light, rose majestically into the sky, and they commanded the fragile balance of life and death with a godlike ease.
But driven by their unquenchable thirst for greater power and deeper knowledge, they made a fatal mistake. They began to manipulate life on a microscopic level to create an inexhaustible source of energy. In their hubris, however, they inadvertently opened a gate—a gate to an ancient, dark dimension.
From there, creatures poured into their world—beings driven by an insatiable hunger. At first, there were only a few, but soon their numbers grew. These beings, later known as "The Forgotten," spread relentlessly. The Eldoria, caught off guard by this unforeseen threat, soon found themselves facing an overwhelming force. A war broke out that shook their civilization to its very core.
Despite their superior magic and technology, hope dwindled. One by one, their cities fell, until finally, the once-mighty empire of the Eldoria was extinguished. The victory of The Forgotten seemed certain.
But their triumph was short-lived. A massive ice age began. The creatures, not adapted to the merciless cold, starved and died out. Their remains, tiny spores, were trapped within the eternal ice, imprisoned by the very cold that had destroyed them.
Millennia passed. Humanity arose as a new civilization, and no one had ever heard of Eldoria.
But as the ice age ended and the glaciers of Antarctica began to melt, something ancient was revealed. A vast, ancient structure, hidden for eons. And with the melting ice, that which had been long forgotten began to awaken.
Unnoticed at first, the monsters slowly began to re-form. Decades passed before humanity recognized the true extent of the danger. But by then, it was almost too late.
In the 7th century, the world once again stands on the brink of an abyss. The shadow of Sagon is spreading, and humanity is not prepared.
